supreme court of florida certified family mediator

What Is Mediation

Mediation is a private process where both parties meet with a neutral third party — a certified family law mediator — to resolve disputes respectfully, efficiently, explore alternatives, and reduce obstacles to communications. Unlike court, the mediator doesn’t take sides, offer legal advice, or represent either party. Instead, the mediator facilitates communication, self-determination, ensures fairness, and guides both parties toward resolution.

Our mediator is a licensed attorney with 25 years of experience in Florida family law, equipped to calculate child support and prepare a written agreement or partial agreement at the conclusion of the session — ready for filing in court.

Why Mediation Works Better Than Court

🔒 It’s Private - Mediation is confidential and out of the public eye. Court proceedings are public, stressful, and often hostile.

⚖️ It’s Neutral and Professional - The mediator does not take sides or advocate for either person. Their job is to ensure both parties are heard, and that options are explored respectfully and thoroughly. The mediator does not provide legal advice, even though they are a lawyer.

💡 It’s Flexible - Courts often have limited tools and rigid outcomes. In mediation, you can craft creative solutions tailored to your family’s needs — not just what’s on a standard legal form.

🤝 It’s Cooperative, Not Adversarial - Judges decide. Mediation empowers you to decide. You don’t need to “win” — you need to move forward.

💵 It’s Affordable - Our flat-fee mediation includes up to two hours, support from a seasoned legal professional, and a written agreement you can use in court. No retainer. No hourly fees. No surprises.
